DB2 or Database 2 is a relational database management system designed by IBM. It is used by many reputed firms to function the organization in a proper manner. But recently an problem is being noticed while using DB2 8.1 on AIX 5.2 in a HADR Near SYNCH Mode setup, that is in this setup the primary server’s database becomes corrupted (both table and indexes) causing total database crash. Due to this corruption the database was passed on to the Standby server via HADR synch processing which renders the standby server unusable. To verify the issue when db2dart utility was used the same corrupted DB2 objects were found.
In order to resolve the issue first try to restore the DB2 database and after several hours start both the servers up and run again in the peer mode and see if the problem gets resolved. If not then you must repair your DB2 database using any third party software.
