Outlook 2002 and its prior version limits the size of the PST file to 2GB which when goes beyond this size limit there is a big possibility that it may get corrupt easily. To avoid that a feature is being added to it which periodically monitors the size of the PST file and stops accepting mails and other data much before it could reach the 2GB size limit.
To illustrate this situation lets consider that Outlook 2002 is installed in your PC and while sending and receiving mails below mentioned error message is flashed –
“Task ‘Microsoft Exchange Server – Receiving’ reported error (0×8004060C): ‘Unknown Error 0×8004060C‘”
User may also receive this error message when they will try to add PST file objects like Contact, tasks, journals and so on. The main cause behind this error message is maximum size of the PST file which can even corrupt the entire PST as well. So, in order to resolve this error user needs to lower the PST file size which can be done by several processes like by using the auto-compaction of the PST file, deleting some of the unwanted and useless files and entries and so on. But all this methods are not so effective in lowering down of the PST file, so best method is to split the large PST file using any third party software. In case the PST gets corrupt during this process then to repair it use Outlook PST Repair software. In case you are using Outlook 2007 and the similar issue occurs then use Outlook 2007 Repair software and get rid of this issue forever.
