Integration of several electronic messaging technologies and communication media’s constitutes in a single store to form Unified Messaging (UM) which can be accessed from the different devices. This messaging service stores all types of messages like faxes, voicemails, e-mails etc. To provide solutions to the UM Exchange Server database needs to be intact, so that it can function properly. But situations may arise when Unified Messaging utility may stop due to corruption of Exchange Server database. The corruption of database is identified when an error message is reported like –
“The database files in this store are corrupted. ID no: c104173b Exchange System Manager” .
This error message indicates that database is corrupted due to the presence of old transactional log files in the folder. The problem can be solved by executing ‘ Eseutil /R’ command by replaying the log transactional files and performing the soft recovery. But if this inbuilt utility fails to repair the Exchange server’s EDB file then in that case it is recommended that you use any third party software like EDB Repair software which will effectively repair your Exchange server file by using its powerful and sophisticated mechanism.
